  GENESIS

Chapter 9

3. Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.

4. But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.

5. And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man.

6. Who so sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made He man.

Chapter 12

1.Now the Lord had said unto Abraham, get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

2. And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

3. And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

4. And thou shalt bring in the table, and set in order the things that are to be set in order upon it; and thou shalt bring in the candlestick, and light the lamps thereof.

2. Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am the Lord your God.

3. After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whiter I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances.

4. Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the Lord your God.

5. Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the Lord.

Chapter 20.

22. Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, spue you not out.

23. And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.

24. But I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I am the Lord your God, which have separated you from other people.

Chapter 26

19. And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass.

20. And your strength shall be in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits.

21. And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins.

Chapter 27.

THE FOURTH BOOK OF MOSES CALLED
NUMBERS

45. Get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.

THE FIFTH BOOK OF MOSES CALLED
DEUTERONOMY

Chapter 1

17. Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God's: and the cause that is too hard for you, bring it unto me, and I will hear it.

22. And ye came near unto me every one of you, and said, We will send men before us, and they shall search us out the land, and bring us word again by what way we must go up, and into what city we shall come.

23. And the saying pleased me well: and I took twelve men of you, one of a tribe:

24. And they turned and went up into the mountain, and came unto the valley of Eshcol, and searched it out

25. And they took of the fruit of the land in their hands, and brought it down unto us, and brought us word again, and said, It is a good land which the Lord our God doth give us.

26.Notwithstanding ye would not go up, but rebuild against the commandment of the Lord your God.

Chapter 4

5. Behold, i have thought you statues and judgments, even as the Lord my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.

6. Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statues, and say, surely this great nation is wise and understanding people.

7. For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the Lord our God is in all things that we call upon Him for?

Chapter 5

6. I am The Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

7. Thou shalt have none other gods, before me.

8. Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth.

9. Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the inequity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that are hate me.

10.And shewing mercy unto thousand of them that love me and keep my commandments.

11. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain: for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh His name in vain.

12. Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee.

13. Six day thou shalt labor, and do all thy work:

14. But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, not thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, northine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger, that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and maidservant may rest as well as thou.

15. And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the Lord thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the Lord thy God commandeth thee to keep the sabbath day..............

....................................................................................................................................................................................

33. Ye shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.

Chapter 6

12. Then beware lest thou forget the Lord, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

13. Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God, and serve Him, and shalt swear by His name.

14. Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;

15. ( For the Lord thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the Lord thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.

16. Ye shall not tempt the Lord your God, as ye tempted Him in Massah.

17. Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and His TESTAMONIES, and His statues, which He hath commanded thee.

18. And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the Lord: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers.

Chapter 28

12. The Lord shall open unto thee His good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shall lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.

13. And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:

14. And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

15. But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all His commandments and His statues which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee.

Chapter 29

21. And the Lord shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law.:

..........................................................................................................................................................................................

24. Even all nations shall say, wherefore hath the Lord done thus unto this land? what meaneth the heat of this great anger?

25. Then men shall say, because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord God of their fathers, which He made with them when He brought them forth out of the land of Egypt:

26. For they went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom He had not given unto them:

27. And the anger of the Lord was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book.

28. And the Lord rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day.

29. The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

Chapter 30

1. And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whiter the Lord thy God hath driven thee.

2. And shall return unto the Lord thy God, and shall obey His voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;

3. That then the Lord thy God, will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whiter the Lord thy God hath scattered thee.

......................................................................................................................................................................................

5. And the Lord thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and He will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.

6. And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

7. And the Lord thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.

8. And thou shalt return and obey the voice of the Lord, and do all His commandments which I command thee this day.

.....................................................................................................................................................................................

11. For this commandments which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.

...........................................................................................................................................................................................

14. But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

15. See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil.

16. In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments and His statues and His judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

..................................................................................................................................................................................

19. I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

20. That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey His voice, and that thou mayest clave unto Him: for He is a thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

THE  BOOK  OF
 JOSHUA

Chapter 1

1. Now after the death of Moses the servant of the Lord it came to pass, that the Lord spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses minister, saying.

2. Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.

3. Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.

4. From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.

Chapter 24

25. So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and set them a statue and an ordinance in Shechem.

........................................................................................................................................................................................

27. And Joshua said unto all the people, behold this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it hath herd all the words of the Lord which He spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your God.

28 So Joshua let the people depart, every man unto His inheritance.

29. And it came to pass after these things, that Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died, being an hundred and ten years old.

30. And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnah-serah, which is in mount Eprahim, on the north side of the hill of Gaash.

THE BOOK OF
JUDGES

Chapter 2

6. And when Joshua had let the people go, the children of Israel went every man unto his inheritance to possess the land.

7. And the people served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the Lord, that He did for Israel.

8. And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died, being an hundred and ten years old.

9. And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnath-heres, in the mount of Ephraim, on the north side of the hill Gaash.

10. And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the Lord, nor yet the works which He had done for Israel.

11. And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and served Baalim:

12. And they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the Lord to anger.

..................................................................................................................................................................................

20. And the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel; and He said, because that this people hath transgressed my covenant which i commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened unto my voice;

21. I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations which Joshua left when he died.

Chapter 6

1. And the ark of the Lord was in the country of the Philistines seven months.

.......................................................................................................................................................................................

8. And take the ark of the Lord, and lay it upon the cart; and put the jewels of gold, which ye return him for a trespass offering, in a coffer by the side thereof; and send it away, that it may go.

....................................................................................................................................................................................

13. And they of Beth-shemesh were reaping their wheat harvest in the valley: and they lifted up their eyes and saw the ark, and rejoiced to see it.

........................................................................................................................................................................................

16. And when the five lords of the Philistine's had seen it, they returned to Ekron the same day.

17. And there are the golden emerods which the Philistines returned for a trespass offering unto the Lord; for Ashdod one, for Gaza one, for Ashkelon one, for Gath one, for Ekron one.

Chapter 8

4. Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah.

5. And said unto Him, behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.

6. But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the Lord.

7. And the Lord said unto Samuel, hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them.

..........................................................................................................................................................................................

9. Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.

7. Now therefore stand still, that I may reason with you before the Lord of all the righteous acts of the Lord, which He did to you and to your fathers.

8. When Jacob was come into Egypt, and your fathers cried unto the Lord, then the Lord sent Moses and Aaron, which brought forth your fathers out of Egypt, and made them dwell in this place.

9. And when they forgot the Lord their God, He sold them into the hand of Sisera, captain of the host of Hazor, and into the hand of the Phillistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab, and they fought against them.

10. And they cried unto the Lord, and said, we have sinned, because we have forsaken the Lord, and have served Baalim and ashtaroth: but now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve Thee.

......................................................................................................................................................................................

12. And when they saw that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon came against you, they said unto me, Nay; but a king shall reign over us: when the Lord your God was your King.

13. Now therefore behold the king whom ye have chosen, and whom ye have desired! and, behold, the Lord hath set a king over you.

.....................................................................................................................................................................................

19. And all the people said unto Samuel, pray for thy servants unto the Lord thy God, that we die not: for we have added unto all our sins this evil, to ask us a king.

20. And Samuel said unto the people, fear not:  ye have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the Lord, but served the Lord with all your heart;

21. And turn ye not aside: for then should ye go after vain things, which cannot profit nor deliver; for they are vain.

22. For the Lord will not forsake His people for His great name's sake: because it hath pleased the Lord to make you His people.

23. Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:

24. Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider how great things He hath done for you.

25. But if ye shall still do wickedly, ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king.

Chapter 15

24. And Soul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for i have transgressed the commandments of the Lord, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.

25. Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with me,that I may worship the Lord.

26. And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord hath rejected thee from being king over Israel.

....................................................................................................................................................................................

35. And Samuel came no more to see Saul until the day of his death: nevertheless Samuel mourned for Saul: and the Lord repented that He had made Saul king over Israel.

THE SECOND BOOK OF

SAMUEL

10. And David's heart smote him after that he numbered the people, and David said unto the Lord, I have sinned greatly in that i have done: and now, I beseech thee, o Lord, take away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly.

11. For when David was up in the morning, the word of the Lord came unto the prophet Gad, David's seer, saying.

12. Go and say unto David, thus saith the Lord, I offer thee three things; choose thee one of them, that I may do it unto thee.

13. So Gad came to David, and told him, and said unto him, shall seven years of famine come unto thee in thy land ?

or wilt thou flee three months before thine enemies, while they pursue thee ?

or that there be three days pestilence in thy land ?

now advice, and see what answer I shall return to Him that sent me.

14. And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the Lord; for His mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man.

THE FIRST BOOK OF THE
KINGS

Chapter 1

...............................................................................................................................................................................................

17. And she said unto him, my lord, thou swarest by the Lord thy God unto thine handmaid, saying, assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne.

.................................................................................................................................................................................................

28. Then king David answered and said, call me Beth-sheba. And she came into the king's presence, and stood before the king.

29. And the king swear, and said, as the Lord liveth, that hath redeemed my soul out of all distress,

30. Even as I sware unto thee by the Lord God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my stead; even so will I certainly do this day.

31. The Beth-sheba bowed with her face to the earth, and did reverence to the king, and said, Let my Lord king David live forever.

Chapter 4

1. So king Solomon was king over all Israel.

.........................................................................................................................................................................................

7. And Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, which provided victuals for the king and his households: each man his month in a year made provision.

Chapter 5

12. And the Lord gave Solomon wisdom, as He promised him: and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon; and they two made a league together.

Chapter 6

11. And the word of the Lord came to Solomon, saying,

12. Concerning this house which thou art in building, if  thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father:

13. And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.

14. So Solomon built the house, and finished it.

....................................................................................................................................................................................

38. And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eight month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.

Chapter 7

1. But Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house.

2. He built also the house of the forest of Lebanon; the length thereof was an hundred cubits, and the breadth thereof fifty cubits, upon four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams upon the pillars.

Chapter 8

1. Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto king Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the city of David, which is Zion.

.......................................................................................................................................................................................

22. And Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven:

23. And he said, Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart:

24. Who hast kept with thy servant David my father that thou promised him: thou speakest also with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.

....................................................................................................................................................................................

35. When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess Thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou afflicted them.

.....................................................................................................................................................................................

39. Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose thou knowest; ( for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men.)

40. That they may fear thee all the days that they live in the land which thou givest unto our fathers.

41. Moreover concerning a stranger, that is not of thy people Israel, but cometh out of a far country for thy name sake;

42. ( For they shall hear of thy great name, and of thy strong hand, and of thy stretched out arm;) when he shall come and pray toward this house;

43. Hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to Thee for: that all people of the earth may know thy name, to fear Thee, as do thy people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have builded, is called by thy name.

55. And he stood, and blessed all the congregation of Israel with a loud voice, saying,

56. Blessed be the Lord, that hath given rest unto His people Israel, according to all that He promised: there hath not failed one word of all His good promise, which He promised by thy hand of Moses His servant.

57. The Lord our God be with us, as He was with our fathers: let Him not leave us, nor forsake us:

58. That He may incline our hearts unto Him, to walk in all His ways, and to keep His commandments, and His statues, and His judgments, which He commanded our fathers.

59. And let these my words, wherewith I have made supplication before the Lord, be nigh unto the Lord our God day and night, that He maintain the cause of His servant, and the cause of his people Israel at all times, as the matter shall require:

60. Let your heart therefore be perfect with the Lord our God, to walk in His statues, and to keep His commandments, as at this day.

..........................................................................................................................................................................................

66. On the eighth day he sent the people away: and they blessed the king, and went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the Lord had done for David His servant, and for Israel His people.

Chapter 11

41. And the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did,and his wisdom, are they not written in the book of the acts of Solomon?

42. And the time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.

43. and Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.

THE SECOND BOOK OF THE
 KINGS

Chapter 19

30. And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall yet again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.

31. For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the Lord of hosts shall do this.

Chapter 20

1. In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.

...................................................................................................................................................................................

5. Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the Lord.

..................................................................................................................................................................................

7. And Isaiah said, take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.

THE FIRST BOOK OF
CHRONICLES

Chapter 2

1. These are the sons of Israel; Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun, Dan, Joseph, and Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

Chapter10

1. Now the Philistines fought against Israel; and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain in mount Gilboa.

7. And when all the men of Israel that were in the valley saw that they fled, and that Soul and his sons were dead, then they forsook their cities, and fled: and the Philistines came and dwell in them.

8. And it came to pass on the morrow, when the Philistines came to strip the slain, that they found Soul and his son fallen in mount Gilboa.

9. And when they had stripped him, they took his head, and his armour, and sent into the land of the Philistines round about, to carry tidings unto their Idols, and to the people.

..............................................................................................................................................................

13. So Soul died for his transgression which he committed against the Lord,even against the word of the Lord, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it;

Chapter 17

4. Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith the Lord, Thou shalt not build me an house to dwell in:

5. For I have not dwelt in an house since the day that I brought up Israel unto this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another.

....................................................................................................................................................................

9. Also I will ordain a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning.

10. And since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. Moreover I will subdue all thine enemies. Furthermore I tell thee that the Lord will build thee an house.

11. And it shall come to pass, when thy days be expired that thou must go to be with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy sons; and I will establish his kingdom.

12. He shall build me an house, an I will stablish his throne for ever.

13. I will be His Father, and He shall be my son: and I will not take my mercy away from Him, as I took it from Him that was before Thee:

14. But I will settle Him in mine house and in my kingdom for ever: and His throne shall be established for evermore.

Chapter 22

8. But the word of the Lord came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.

9. Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for  his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.

10. He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his Father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.

11. Now, my son, the Lord be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the Lord thy God, as He hath said of thee.

12. Only the Lord give thee wisdom and understanding, and give the charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the Lord thy God.

13. Than shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfill the statutes and judgments which the Lord charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.

Chapter 23

1. So when David was old and full of days, he made Solomon his son king over Israel.

Chapter 29

23. Then Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.

.....................................................................................................................................................................................

29. Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer.

30. With all his reign and his might, and the times that went over him, and over Israel, and over all the kingdom of the countries.

THE SECOND BOOK OF THE

CHRONICLES

Chapter 1

7. In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, ask what I shall give thee.

8. And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead.

9. Now, O Lord God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for Thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.

10. Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?

11. And God said to Solomon, because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king.

12. Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.

Chapter 7

1. Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the house.

...................................................................................................................................................................................

14. If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

....................................................................................................................................................................................

19. But if ye turn away, and forsake my statues and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;

20. Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations.

21. And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passeth by it; so that he shall say, Why hath the Lord done thus unto this land, and unto this house?

22. And it shall be answered, because they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath He brought all this evil upon them.

Chapter 9

1. And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great company and camels that bare spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.

2. And Solomon told her all her questions: and there was nothing hid from Solomon which he told her not.

..................................................................................................................................................................................

5. And she said to the king, It was a true report which I heard in mine own land of thine acts, and of thy wisdom:

6. Howbeit I believed not their words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the one half of the greatness of thy wisdom was not told to me: for thou exceedest the fame that i heard.

7. Happy are thy men, and happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and hear thy wisdom.

8. Blessed be the Lord thy God, which delighted in thee to set thee on His throne, to be king for the Lord thy God loved Israel, to establish them for ever, therefore made He thee king over them, to do judgment and justice.

....................................................................................................................................................................................

30. And Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.

31. And Solomon slept with his fathers, and he was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.

THE BOOK OF
EZRA

About:

Ezra continues the Old Testament narrative of Second Chronicles by showing how God fulfills His promise to return His people to the Land of Promise after seventy years of exile. Israel's "second Exodus" this one from Babylon, is less impressive than the return from Egypt because only a remnant chooses to leave Babylon.

THE BOOK OF
NEHEMIA

Chapter 9

1. Now in the twenty and fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with fasting, and with sackcloth's, and earth upon them.

2. And the seed of Israel separated themselves from all strangers, and stood and confessed their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers.

3. And they stood up in their place, and read in the book of the law of the Lord their God one fourth part of the day, and another fourth part they confessed, and worshipped the Lord their God.

........................................................................................................................................................................................

13. Thou camest down also upon mount Sinai, and spakest with them from heaven, and gavest them right judgments, and true laws, good statues and commandments:

14. And madest known unto them thy holy sabbath, and commandments them precepts, statues, and laws, by the hand of Moses thy servant:

15. and gavest them bread from heaven for their hunger, and broughted forth water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and promised them that they should go n to possess the land which thou hadst sworn to give them.

..........................................................................................................................................................................................

26. Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against thee, and cast thy law behind their backs, and slew thy prophets which testified against them to turn them to thee, and they wrought great provocations.

27. Therefore thou delivered them into the hand of their enemies, who vexed them: and in the time of their trouble, when they cried unto thee, thou heardest them from heaven; and according to thy manifold mercies thou gavest them saviours, who saved them out of the hand of their enemies.

.................................................................................................................................................................................

33. Howbeit Thou art just in all that is brought upon us; for Thou hast done right, but we have done wickedly.

ESTHER

Chapter 9

2. The Jews gathered themselves together in their cities throughout all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, to lay hand on such as sought their hurt: and no man could withstand them; for the fear of them fell upon all people.

3. And all rulers of the provinces, and the lieutenants, and the deputies, and officers of the king, helped the Jews; because the fear of Mordecai fell upon them.

4. For Mordecai was great in the king's house, and his fame went out throughout al the provinces: for this man Mordecai waxed greater and greater.

........................................................................................................................................................................................

23. And the Jews undertook to do as they had begun, and as Mordecai had written unto them;

24. Because Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, the enemy of all the Jews, had devised against the Jews to destroy them, and had cast Pur, that is, the lot, to consume them, and to destroy them;

25. But when Esther came before the king, he commandeth by letters that his wicked device, which he devised against the Jews, should return upon his own head, and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows.

.......................................................................................................................................................................................

32. And the decree of Esther confirmed these matters of Purim; and it was written in the book.

Chapter 10

3. For Mordecai the Jew was next unto king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren, seeking the wealth of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed.

THE BOOK OF
JOB

Chapter 1

1. There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.

.....................................................................................................................................................................................

6. Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them.

7. and the Lord said unto Satan, whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said from going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

8. And the Lord said unto Sata, hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

9. Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, doth Job fear God for nought?

10. Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

11. But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse Thee to thy face.

12. And the Lord said unto Satan, behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.

13. And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:

14. And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, the oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them:

15. And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

16. While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, the fire of God is fallen from heaven, and, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

17. While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, the Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

18. While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:

19. and, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

20. Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,

21. and said, naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.

22. In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

Chapter 42.

1.Then Job answered the Lord, and said.

2. I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from Thee.

3. Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.

...................................................................................................................................................................................

6. Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.

7. And it was so, that after the Lord had spoken these words unto Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, my wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.

.....................................................................................................................................................................................

10. And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.

......................................................................................................................................................................................

12. So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.

.......................................................................................................................................................................................

16. After this lived Job an hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, even four generations.

17. So Job died, being old and full of days.

DANIEL

Chapter 12

1. And that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

2. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

3. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

4. But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

5. Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.

6. And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, how long shall it be to the end of these wonders?

7. And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up His right hand and His left hand unto heaven, and swear by Him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when He shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

8. And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?

9. And He said, go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

10. Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

ECCLESIASTES

Chapter 3

17. I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time therefore every purpose and for every work.

18. I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are BEASTS.

19. For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.

20. All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.

21. Who knoweth the spirit of men that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?

22. Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?

THE  NEW  TESTAMENT

Beginning with Matthew

Ending with Revelations

MATHEW

Chapter 2

4. And when he sad gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.

5. And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,

6. And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.

.....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

20. Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child's life.

23. And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.

Chapter  4

3. And when a tempter came to Him, He said, if thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

4. But He answered and said, it is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

5. Then the devil taketh Him up into the holy city, and setteth Him on a pinnacle of the temple.

6. And saith unto Him, if thou be the Son of God, cast Thyself down: for it is written, He shall give His angels charge concerning Thee: and in their hands they shall bear Thee up, lest at any time thou dash Thy foot against a stone.

7. Jesus said unto him, it is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

8. Again, the devil taketh Him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth Him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

9. And saith unto Him, all these things will I give Thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

10. Then saith Jesus unto him, get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.

11. Then the devil leaveth Him, and , behold, angels came and ministered unto Him.

......................................................................................................................................................................................

13. And leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:

14. That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

15. The land of Zebulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;

16. The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.

17. From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand.

Chapter  5

17. Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

18. For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

19. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

20. For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

THE ACTS
 of the Apostles

Chapter 1

6. When they therefore were come together, they asked of Him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

7.And He said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in His Own power.

8. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

9. And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received Him out of their sight.

10. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white  apparel;

11. Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into heaven.

Chapter 2

22. Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth,a men approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by Him in the midst of you , as ye yourselves also known.

23. Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God , ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain.

24. Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that He should be holden of it.

25. For David speaketh concerning Him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face , for He is on my right hand, that I should not be moved.

.............................................................................................................................................................................

34. For David is not ascended into the heavens : but he saith  himself, the Lord said unto my Lord ,sit thou on my right hand,

35. Until I make thy foes thy footstool.

36. Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God had made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

..................................................................................................................................................................................

38. Then Peter said unto them, repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holly Ghost.

39. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

40. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying ,save yourself from this untoward generation.

Chapter 10

 34. Then Peter opened his mouth and said, of a truth I perceive that God is no respect of persons.                      35. But in every nation he that feareth Him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with Him.                            36. The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: ( He is a Lord of all.)

37. That word, I say, ye know, which was published trough out of Judea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism  which John preached.                                                                                                                                           38. How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holly Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and  helping all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him.                                                                    39. And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew  and hanged on the tree.                                                                                                                                      40. Him God raised up on the third day, and shewed Him openly.                                                                              41. Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with Him after  He rose from the dead.                                                                                                                                        42. And He commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is He which was ordained of God to be a  judge of life and dead.                                                                                                                                              43. To Him give all the prophets witness, that trough His name whosoever believeth in Him shall receive remissions  of sins.

ROMANS

Chapter 1

16. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

17. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it written, the just shall live by faith.

Chapter 4

16. Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to te end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all.

17. ( as it written, I have made thee a father of many nations), before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

18. Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, " So shall thy seed be. "

19. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb:

20. He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God.

21. And being fully persuaded that, what He had promised, He was able also to perform.

22. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.

23. Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him.

24. But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on Him that raised up Jesus our Lord from dead;

25. Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Chapter 5

9. Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath trough Him.

19. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

20. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

21. That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Chapter 9

4. Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;

5. Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God, blessed for ever. Amen.

6.  Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

7. Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but ISAAK shall thy seed be called.

................................................................................................................................................................................

15. For He saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

16. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that showeth mercy.

...............................................................................................................................................................................

24. Even us, whom He hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

25. As He saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.

................................................................................................................................................................................

27. Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:

28. For He will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.

29. And as Esaias said before, except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.

30. What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.

31. But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.

32. Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling stone;

33. As it is written, behold I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.

FIRST
CORINTHIANS

Chapter 1

19. For it is written,I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

25. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

Chapter 2

5. That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

7. But we speak the wisdom of God in the mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory.

8. Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory.

16. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct Him? - But we have the mind of Christ.

Chapter 3

8. Now He that planteth and He that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

11. For other foundation can no men lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Chapter 10

5. But with many of them God was not well pleased; for they were owerthrown in the wilderness.

6. Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

7. Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, the people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

8. Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

9. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

...........................................................................................................................................................................................

11. Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition upon whom the ends of the word are come.

12. Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

...........................................................................................................................................................................................

..............................................................................................................................................................................................

25. Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake:

26. For the earth is the Lord's and the fulness thereof.

..............................................................................................................................................................................................

32. Give no offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God.

Chapter 11

3. But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

4. Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.

5. But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.

6. For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.

Chapter 15

20. But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept.

21. For since by man come death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.

22. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

23. But every man in his order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at His coming.

24. Then cometh the end, when He shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when He shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

25. For He must reign, till He hath put all enemies under His feet.

26. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

27. For He hath put all things under His feet. But when He saith all things are put under Him, it is manifest that He is excepted, which did put all things under Him.

........................................................................................................................................................................................

45. And so is written, the first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

46. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

47. The first man is of the earth, the second man is the Lord from heaven.

49. And as we have borne the image  of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

50. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

51. Behold, I shew you a mystery;  We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed.

SECOND
 CORINTHIANS

Chapter 2

13. For we write none other things unto you, than what ye read or acknowledge; and I trust ye shall acknowledge even to the end.

Chapter 3

3. Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

5. Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God.

..........................................................................................................................................................................................

13. And not as Moses, which put a vail over His face, that the children of Israel could not stadfastly look to the end of that which is abolished.

14. But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.

15. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.

16. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.

Chapter 4

6. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

7. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

8. We are troubled on every side,yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

9. Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down; but not destroyed;

10. Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

....................................................................................................................................................................

13. We having the same spirit of faith, as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;

14. Knowing that He which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.

Chapter 5

7. For we walk by faith, not by sight:

8. We are confident,I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

9. Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of Him.

10. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

.................................................................................................................................................................................

13. For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your case.

Chapter 11

9. And when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept myself from being burden some unto you, and so will I keep myself.

........................................................................................................................................................................................

21. I speak as concerning reproach, as though we had been weak. Howbeit wheresoever any is bold,( I speak foolishly) I am bold also.

22. Are they Hebrews? so am I. Are they Israelites? so am I. Are they seed of Abraham? so am I.

23. Are they ministers of Christ? ( I speak as a Fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.

GALATIANS

Chapter 3

24. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

25. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

26. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

27. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

28. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male or female: nor ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

29. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

EPHESIANS

Chapter 2

8. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9. Not of works, let any man should boast.

10. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

12. That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

13. But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

....................................................................................................................................................................................

18. For trough Him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

19. Now therefore are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God.

20. And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone;

21. In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an Holy temple in the Lord:

22. In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

Chapter 6

11. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15. And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16. Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

18. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

24. Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.

PHILIPPIANS

Chapter 2.

3. Let nothing be done through strife and vain glory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better then themselves.

4. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

5. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

6. Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

7. But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of  a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

8. And being founding fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

9. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name:

10. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.

11. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

COLOSSIANS

Chapter 2

8. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

9. For in Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

10. And ye are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power:

.......................................................................................................................................................................................

16. Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of any holiday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

17. Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Chapter 3

5. Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

6. For which things sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

...................................................................................................................................................................................

11. Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision or uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and all.

.....................................................................................................................................................................................

17. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.

FIRST
THESSALONIANS

Chapter 2

10. Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe.

11. As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father doth His children,

12.That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto His kingdom and glory.

13. For this Couse also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

Chapter 4

14. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also who which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him.

15. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16. For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a voice of archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17. Then we which are alive and remain shall be cought up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

SECOND
THESSALONIANS

Chapter 2

2. That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

3. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come for falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.

4. Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

5. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

6. And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in this time.

7. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

8. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming.

9. Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders.

10. And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11. and for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.

12. That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

13 ...........................................................................................................................................................................

14. .........................................................................................................................................................................

15. Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been thought, whether by word, or our epistle.

16. Now our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,

17. Comfort your hearts, and establish you in every good word and work.

TIMOTHY

Chapter 2

8. Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my Gospel.

.........................................................................................................................................................................

11. It is faithful saying: for if we be dead with Him, we shall also live with Him.

12. If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him: If we deny Him, He also will deny us.

13. If we believe not, yet abideth faithful: He cannot deny Himself.

14. Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.

15. Study to shew thyself approved unto God,a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

..........................................................................................................................................................................................

19. Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, the Lord knoweth them that are His.

Chapter 3

14. But continue thou in in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them.

15. And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction, in righteousness.

HEBREWS

Chapter 2

9. But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

10. For it became him, for whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory,to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

11. For both he that sanctified and they who are sanctified are all one: for which cause He is not ashamed to call them brethren.

15. And deliver them who through fear of death  were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

16. For verily he took not on Him the nature of angels; but he took on Him the seed of Abraham.

17. Wherefore in all things it behoved Him to be made like unto His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

18. For in that He Himself hath suffered being tempted, He is able to succour them that are tempted.

Chapter 5

 5. So also Christ glorified not Himself to be made an high priest, but He that said unto Him, thou art my Son, today have I begotten thee.

 6. As He  saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

 9. And being made perfect, He became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him.                  10. Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchizedek.

Chapter 7

1. For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him.

2. To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;

.................................................................................................................................................................................

5. And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, tough they come out of the loins of Abraham.

...................................................................................................................................................................................

11. If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, ( for under it the people received the law, ) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchizedek, and not be called after the order of Aaron?

12. For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

13. For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.

14. For it is evident that Our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

..................................................................................................................................................................................

21. For those priests were made without an oath, but this with an oath by Him that said unto Him, The Lord sware and will not repent, thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek:)

22. By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.

.....................................................................................................................................................................................

24. But this man, because He continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.

25. Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them.

26. For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens.

27. Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first His own sins, and then for the people"s: for this He did once, when He offered up Himself.

28. For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.

Chapter 8

1. Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: we have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens.

2. A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.

..................................................................................................................................................................................

5. Who serve unto the exemple and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.

6. But now hath He obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also He is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

7. For it that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place  have been sought for the second.

8. For finding fault with them, He saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Judah:

9. Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

1. For this is a covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people.

11. and they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, know the Lord; for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

12. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

13. In that He saith, anew covenant, He hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

Chapter 9

24. For Christ is not entered into the holy place made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.

25. Nor yet that He should offer Himself often as the High Priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;

26. For then must He often have suffered since of foundation of the world: But now once in the end of the world hath He appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.

27. and as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

28. So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Chapter 10

1. For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

9. Then said He, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that He may establish the second.

..................................................................................................................................................................................................

12. But this man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God.

13. From henceforth expecting till His enemies be made His footstool.

14. For by one offering He hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

15. Wherefore the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that He had said before:

16. This is a covenant that I will make with them  put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

17. And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

18. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

.................................................................................................................................................................................................

23. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for He is faithful that promised;)

.................................................................................................................................................................................................

26. For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins.

27. But a certain fearful looking for a judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

.................................................................................................................................................................................................

30. For we know Him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall Judge His People.

31. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Living God.

.................................................................................................................................................................................................

38. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

39. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

Chapter 11

14. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.

15. and truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.

16. But now they desire the better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for He hath prepared for them a city.

.................................................................................................................................................................................................

22. By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.

................................................................................................................................................................................................

24. By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaon's daughter;

25. Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

.................................................................................................................................................................................................

40. God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

FIRST
JOHN

Chapter 5

9. If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is  greater: for this is a witness of God which He hath testified of His Son.

................................................................................................................................................................................................

11. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

12. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the son of God hath not life.

13. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

.................................................................................................................................................................................................

20. And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true, and we are in Him that is true, even in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

JUDE

Chapter 1

5. I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

6. And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, He hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

7. Even as Sodom and Gomora, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to forcinication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for a exemple, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

8. Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

.................................................................................................................................................................................................

14. And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophiside of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousand of His saints.

15. To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.

THE REVELATION OF
 JESUS CHRIST

Chapter 1

1. The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto Him, to shew unto his servant things which must shortly come to pass; and He sent and signified it by His angel unto His servant John.

..............................................................................................................................................................................................

5. And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood.

.................................................................................................................................................................................................

7. Behold, He cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see Him, and they also which pierced Him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of Him. Even so, Amen.

8. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

...............................................................................................................................................................................................

20. The  mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlestick. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches; and the seven candelstick which thou sawest are the seven churches.

REVELATION
